Georgetown has some of the finest mature trees in Central Texas, particularly the pecan and bur oak bottomland along the North and South San Gabriel rivers. The Historic District around the square carries street trees that are genuinely old, and they are treated accordingly by both the city and the residents.
Sun City is a distinct piece of our Georgetown work. It is a large community of mature landscape plantings on relatively uniform lots, and a great deal of it went in at the same time, which means a lot of trees reach the same maintenance milestones simultaneously.
Georgetown operates its own tree ordinance with heritage protections, and it is not identical to Austin. We confirm the specific requirements for your address before quoting any removal, because assuming Williamson County means no rules is a mistake here.

Yes. Georgetown operates its own tree ordinance including heritage tree protections, and it is separate from the City of Austin rules people often assume apply everywhere. Requirements vary by zoning, lot type and tree size. We check the requirements for your specific address as part of the estimate and handle any application.
Pecan is structurally brittle by nature, and it also practises what arborists call summer limb drop, shedding apparently healthy limbs during extreme heat. Add webworm defoliation and scab, both common along the San Gabriel, and the tree sheds more. Crown thinning and reduction over structures meaningfully reduces the consequences.
Regularly. We work throughout Sun City and are familiar with the community access requirements and quiet hours. Because so much of the landscape planting there went in at once, we frequently plan work in phases across two or three seasons so residents are not facing everything in one budget year.

No room to fell and no crane access down the side return, so the tree came down in rigged sections lowered on a friction device. The climber walked the homeowner through the rigging plan from the ground before going up, which is standard: anyone whose house is under the drop zone is entitled to understand it.
Close quarters is a rigging problem, not a felling problem.
Homeowner had two quotes to top the tree.
Topping was declined and the reason explained: the flush of weak regrowth it triggers is far more likely to fail than the limb being removed, and the decay pockets left behind never close. The tree was reduced to suitable lateral branches instead, taking roughly 15% of the live crown.
A company that offers to top your tree is telling you something.

Pattern and veinal necrosis matched oak wilt. A trench was cut to sever the root grafts running toward the healthy stems, and the two unaffected trees were injected. The infected tree was removed outside beetle season and the wood was not kept on site.
Roughly 90% of local spread is underground. Trenching is the treatment.
